Energy Efficiency – CPD Training



I completed CPD training with my professional chartered engineering body CIBSE so as to update my understanding of Energy Efficiency.

The Course summary below highlights the items covered and has given me time to think about a number of areas that I need to develop - using my Demonstrator residential housing project as the catalyst.

Course Content
This course introduces the delegate to the whole subject of energy efficiency and management. It covers the basic principles, the relevant legislation, the standard approaches and the 12 step plan for successful control of use of the utilities. It is designed for those new to the subject and those who feel that there is so much change that they need to find an effective way of getting up to date.
The course also majors on simple solutions that can be applied in the home and workplace under the headings of 'good housekeeping'/ no cost solutions, low cost solutions, and opportunities for future investment. A major component of understanding is the 'jargon buster' where delegates will be assisted in their understanding of all of the terminology and acronyms employed in the energy industry.

Trevor Floyd - MSc CEnv CEng MEI CMarEng MIMarEST ACIBSE is the Principal Consultant at TENBY Consultancy Group - He is a CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant & Low Carbon Energy Assessor (DECs), Accredited Carbon Trust Consultant, a registered Expert Witness, an ISO 14001 and BS EN 16001 / ISO 50001 specialist, Chairman of the ESTA Independent Energy Consultant's Group, and Chairman of the West Midlands and Mid Wales branch of the Energy Institute. He is also an accredited CPD Course Developer and Trainer for both CIBSE and the Energy Institute and he is the joint Consultant editor of the Croner's Energy Management publication.
